Allgäuer Bergkäse Metal Plate

Allgäuer Bergkäse is a raw cow’s milk German mountain cheese. Each wheel weighs anywhere from 30 to 110 lb, which is smaller than a typical Emmental wheel. Similar to famous Alp cheese, it has a mild nutty flavor that intensifies with age. The unique flavor profile comes from the cows grazing on green grass and various wild flowers in the region. There are currently 13 companies that produce the name protected cheese.
